About the Role

A Quality Assurance Automation Engineer with over 9 years of experience will participate in test planning, manage the automation repository and CI environment, and develop and maintain automation frameworks for API and UI-based testing.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in test planning to determine which test cases to automate and which to execute for each project/release.
  • Manage the day-to-day automation repository and CI environment, ensuring test scripts run without error.
  • Develop and maintain automation framework(s) to support API and UI-based testing.
  • Create and maintain Test Plans.
  • Participate in in-sprint automation of test cases.
  • Determine automation candidates for each release based on selection criteria.
  • Convert requirements, user stories, design documents, or existing manual test cases into automation scripts, ensuring compliance with development methodology and framework.
  • Develop and maintain Sanity, Smoke, System, End-to-End (E2E), and Regression Test types.
  • Perform routine maintenance of existing test scripts, anticipating changes and updating scripts accordingly.
  • Collect metrics to track time and cost savings from automation.
  • Provide daily progress reports and escalate testing or automation issues.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of QA Testing experience.
  • 5+ years of leading manual and automation test programs for large, complex enterprise applications.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in designing, developing, implementing, and executing automated test scripts.
  • Expertise in Internet technologies, tools, and environments.
  • Experience with project management tools such as Azure DevOps or Jira.
  • A Bachelor's degree (BS/BA) in Computer Science, MIS, or a related technical discipline (or equivalent experience).
  • Ability to plan, organize, and direct automation activities to maximize operational efficiency.
  • Experience developing test strategies and planning approaches for manual and automated testing.
  • Ability to map requirements to test cases and analyze complex applications to develop test cases.
  • Skilled at examining and analyzing typical business workflow scenarios.
  • Ability to create and execute automated test scripts and report on test execution status.
  • Strong project management skills and exposure to project-based work structures.
  • Detail-oriented and deliverable-focused with an active, hands-on style.
  • Experience writing software defect reports.
  • Ability to communicate effectively on both technical and non-technical levels.
  • Ability to understand applications from technical and business perspectives.
  • Ability to make sound decisions based on business, technology, and QA guidelines.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience or knowledge of Mortgage Servicing and/or prior banking experience.
  • Strong knowledge of system testing best practices and methodologies.
  • Experience building an automation program.
  • Experience working on applications built in a Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA).
  • Understanding of SQL databases and ability to run SQL queries.
  • Experience with CI/CD technologies such as Jira, Confluence, Crucible, BitBucket (or other Git servers), and Jenkins.
