QA Automation Engineer

Onsite full-time role in Jersey City, NJ.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust automation frameworks using Playwright and Selenium.
• Perform UI, API, and database testing to ensure comprehensive test coverage.
• Create, maintain, troubleshoot, and debug automated test scripts and frameworks.
• Write, execute, and analyze SQL queries for test validation.
• Collaborate in Agile/Scrum environments, participating in sprint planning, test estimation, execution, and retrospectives.
• Analyze business requirements and prepare detailed test scenarios and test cases for complete functional coverage.
• Test web-based and client/server applications.
• Manage defect lifecycle and adhere to software quality best practices.
• Work with cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality software delivery.

Requirements

• 8 to 15 years of experience in QA, with 5-7 years of hands-on expertise in test automation.
• 5-10 years of experience in automation testing with strong hands-on expertise in Playwright and Selenium.
• Proficient in Typescript/JavaScript.
• Good understanding of relational databases and SQL.
• Hands-on experience with test management and defect tracking tools such as HP ALM, ALM Octane, or Jira.
• Strong understanding of QA methodologies and testing lifecycle.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with keen attention to detail.
• Ability to translate business requirements into effective testing strategies.
• Flexible, proactive, and capable of handling ad hoc assignments in a fast-paced environment.
