About the Role
AssetWorks is seeking an experienced QA Automation Engineer to join its dynamic team. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in cultivating a test-driven, quality-first culture across the M5 platform. Your primary responsibility will be to partner closely with engineering teams to ensure that high standards of quality are consistently achieved. You will lead efforts in advancing modern testing strategies, leveraging AI-driven agents to design, generate, execute, and optimize test cases. Your expertise in AI-assisted automation will be critical in integrating innovative testing workflows that enhance scalability, reduce manual effort, and accelerate release cycles. This role requires a proactive leader who can balance shifting priorities, mentor team members, and champion best practices in QA and automation. Reporting to the Software Engineering Manager, this remote position within North America offers an exciting opportunity to influence the future of quality assurance at AssetWorks.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in software testing and quality assurance
- Proficiency in utilizing APIs (SOAP, REST, GraphQL) and developing API tests
- Experience with source control systems such as Git and Github
- Strong knowledge of relational databases including SQL and Oracle
- Expertise with automation tools like Selenium, Postman, Playwright, etc.
- Hands-on experience using AI tools such as Claude Code, Github CoPilot, or Kiro in test automation workflows
- Proven ability to build and maintain testing frameworks
- Deep understanding of software testing principles, methodologies, and best practices
- Excellent skills in writing effective test cases and scripts
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present complex ideas clearly
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks and test suites for regression, functional, integration, and end-to-end testing scenarios
- Leverage AI-driven agents to generate, execute, and optimize test cases, analyze results, and improve defect detection efficiency
- Support manual regression and functional testing efforts for enterprise product features, including web applications, reporting, and integrations
- Develop and implement AI-assisted testing strategies to increase test coverage, accelerate testing cycles, and reduce manual effort
- Perform installation, upgrade, and validation testing across supported environments to ensure product stability and performance
- Collaborate with engineering teams during planning, story grooming, and design discussions to embed testability and quality into solutions from inception
- Review and interpret product and business requirements to define comprehensive test scenarios and acceptance criteria
- Create, maintain, and continuously improve test plans, test cases, and automation assets
- Execute tests, record results, and communicate test status and risks effectively to stakeholders
- Generate detailed defect reports, track issues within defect management systems, and partner with development teams for timely resolution
- Continuously evaluate and enhance test coverage, automation effectiveness, and quality metrics
- Advocate for best practices in QA, test automation, and AI-driven testing across teams
- Lead and influence the evolution of testing and automation strategies, focusing on scalability, efficiency, and innovation
