QA Analyst

About the role

The QA Analyst ensures the quality, reliability, and performance of POS and e-commerce applications within a cross-functional Agile team. This role involves manual and automated testing, test strategy development, defect management, and QA process improvement. The position requires hands-on access to lab equipment, hardware, and testing environments, supporting both local and remote teams. Domestic and international travel to customer sites for project support and testing is required.

Responsibilities

• Plan, design, and execute manual and automated testing for Oracle Retail and Jumpmind retail applications
• Perform functional, regression, integration, performance, and security testing across multiple systems and environments
• Validate retail business workflows, system integrations, and end-to-end transaction processes
• Identify, document, and track defects using Jira, collaborating with developers for resolution
• Contribute to test strategy development, test planning, and QA process enhancements
• Support version control systems to facilitate test execution, software releases, and continuous delivery
• Prepare comprehensive test reports, quality metrics, and release readiness assessments
• Assist in end-to-end system validation, including integration with backend systems and external services
• Support test automation initiatives to improve testing efficiency and coverage
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to uphold quality standards across retail applications and digital platforms
• Maintain and support the retail lab environment, including POS systems, peripherals, and testing hardware
• Configure and troubleshoot retail hardware and systems to support testing activities
• Provide hands-on support for remote teams requiring physical access to lab systems or hardware
• Travel domestically and internationally to support customer implementations, testing, and engagements as needed

Requirements

• Experience with Oracle Retail Xstore or similar Point-of-Sale (POS) systems
• Minimum of 2+ years in Quality Assurance or software testing, including manual and automated testing
• Strong understanding of Agile and Waterfall methodologies
• Proficiency with defect tracking and test management tools such as Jira
• Solid analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills for cross-functional teamwork
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple testing activities in fast-paced environments
• Working knowledge of relational databases such as SQL Server and Oracle, with the ability to write and analyze SQL queries

Preferred Qualifications

• Proficiency in English; Spanish language skills are advantageous
• ISEB/ISTQB Foundation or Advanced QA certification
• Knowledge of performance, security, and accessibility testing best practices
• Experience with test automation tools such as Xunit, Test Evolve, or similar platforms
