About the role

Certified Languages International (CLI) seeks telephonic interpreters to work from home. This position involves providing over-the-phone interpretation services to a variety of industries including medical, insurance, financial, utility, customer service, and state courts.

Responsibilities

• Provide accurate and timely interpretation services for clients in various industries.
• Interpret conversations between non-native English speakers and their healthcare providers, legal representatives, or other professionals.
• Ensure confidentiality and professionalism during all interactions.
• Work flexible hours to accommodate the needs of our clients, who require interpreting services 24/7.

Requirements

• Must be a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident.
• Must have a valid Social Security Number or Employer Identification Number.
• Must possess a government-issued photo ID.
• Must be able to work in the United States legally.

Qualifications

• Must hold a current certification as an interpreter from a recognized professional organization.
• Experience working in healthcare settings is preferred but not required.
• Excellent communication skills in both English and the language(s) you will be interpreting.
• Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure.
• Knowledge of relevant industry-specific terminology is beneficial.

Pay

Payment is based on a per-minute rate, with interpreters paid for every minute spent on the phone interpreting. Payments are issued twice monthly, on the 15th and last day of each month, via direct deposit.

Schedule

Interpreters set their own schedules, allowing them to work around personal commitments while still meeting the needs of our clients who require interpreting services 24/7.
