About the role
Our Client is seeking a mid-level Software Engineer responsible for developing and enhancing a critical real-time financial platform, including the development of new applications and features while improving the functionality, reliability, and performance of existing applications. The Software Engineer works directly with Product teams to ensure quality code deliverables are completed on time and in accordance with client standards, and also works closely with Operations and Technology teams to define and implement new features and ensure system resiliency. The candidate will develop, test, enhance, and support highly reliable applications for the payments industry while utilizing AI-assisted automation and engineering practices throughout the software development lifecycle. This is a permanent, fully onsite position based in High Point, NC. This role does not accept C2C, OPT, F1, H1B, H4 visa holders, or 1099 candidates.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain highly reliable software supporting real-time payment processing.
- Write clean, maintainable Java code that complies with client quality standards and secure coding practices.
- Develop software components leveraging enterprise Java frameworks such as Spring and Spring Boot.
- Develop Python scripts and programs for data automation, analysis, and integration services.
- Develop and maintain services, APIs, application components, and automated test frameworks.
- Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, troubleshooting, and engineering design activities.
- Assist with monitoring, troubleshooting, defect resolution, and root-cause analysis.
- Participate in the modernization of existing applications and migration toward cloud-native platforms.
- Build applications on AWS cloud platforms utilizing Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform.
