Engineering$80–$90/hrContract
Location: Plano, TX (3 days onsite) • Duration: 12+ months contract with extension • Job ID: 180799
Responsibilities
- Build small, fast solutions that reduce engineering toil for internal teams; work typically scoped and shipped in weeks rather than months.
- Receive independent tasks most of the time; occasional pairing or short cross‑collaboration to unblock teammates.
- Design and implement APIs, create schemas and data sets, build or modify data pipelines, and produce demos prior to rollout.
- Handle CI/CD, vulnerability/compliance remediation, and L1/L2 troubleshooting as regular responsibilities.
- Interact frequently with multiple source teams to gather requirements and build buy‑in; strong communication skills are essential.
Requirements
- Primary languages & tools: Python (preferred), Go (legacy/maintenance), React for front‑end tasks, SQL, REST APIs, CI/CD tooling.
- Work distribution: ~50% API + data, ~25% CI/CD / vulnerability & compliance, ~25% front‑end / bugfix / support (front‑end <25% of role).
- Legacy Java work exists only in maintenance/bug‑fix mode; new development is in Python.
- AWS familiarity at a conceptual/service level (managed infrastructure); awareness of new cloud services is a plus.
- Agentic AI & tooling: Team leverages agentic AI tools (notably Cloud Code) plus GitHub Copilot and Windsurf. Prior hands‑on experience building or integrating agentic AI solutions is strongly preferred; demonstrated work with these tools matters more than years of experience.
- Ability to leverage AI tools to learn missing skills quickly while maintaining strong judgement when engaging stakeholders.
