Atlas Tech, a veteran-owned IT company serving multiple DoD customers in support of America's warfighters, is seeking a motivated, analytical, and detail-oriented Python Developer to join our software engineering team developing next-generation Navy tactical communication solutions in the Charleston, SC area.

About the role

Assist our Navy customer in defining, developing, maintaining, supporting, tuning, and troubleshooting software and hardware infrastructure on Linux servers as part of a dynamic team fulfilling technical needs of our military.

Responsibilities

• Develop solutions on Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) servers
• Work with container technologies (Docker/Podman)
• Instantiate and administer Red Hat virtual machines (KVM)
• Automate tasks using shell scripting (Bash)
• Develop applications using Python
• Research and resolve software bugs
• Maintain source code in software repositories (Git)
• Perform testbed demos and proofs of concept to leadership
• Assist subject matter experts with software engineering change request (ECR) requirements and software documentation

Requirements

• US Citizenship
• The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense (DoD) Secret Level Security Clearance
• The ability to maintain a DoD IAT II certification
• Experience with Red Hat or similar Linux distributions
• Experience with creating Linux Bash scripts
• Experience with programming in Python
• Familiarity with layer 2 & 3 switch and router technologies
• Strong documentation and oral communication skills to clearly communicate with all levels of users, engineers, managers, and organizations
• The ability to work with others in a highly collaborative environment
• The ability to multi-task and balance multiple goals and priorities
• A self-motivated, strong work ethic and commitment to quality

Qualifications

• BS Degree in relevant technical field or combination of education and experience
• CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent

Nice to have

• Experience with Navy shore-based systems
• A Linux OS certification
