Python Backend Developer

About the role

Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Python and FastAPI for a cutting-edge, cloud-native platform that delivers real-time market data and scalable financial applications. Build and integrate backend services from scratch for a greenfield Portfolio Management System.

Responsibilities

• Build scalable REST APIs for cloud-native financial applications.
• Integrate with Bloomberg and other third-party providers for real-time market data ingestion.
• Design and optimize PostgreSQL databases and SQL data models; work with Snowflake where applicable.
• Deploy and support applications within Microsoft Azure.

Requirements

• 5+ years of backend software development experience.
• Strong Python programming skills and experience with FastAPI or similar Python frameworks.
• Hands-on Bloomberg API integration experience.
• Strong understanding of backend application architecture and distributed systems.
• Experience with SQL and PostgreSQL.
• Cloud development experience (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
• Ability to consistently work U.S. East Coast business hours.
