Pyro Equipment Operator

Primary Responsibilities

• Extruder Operation: Duties include, but are not specifically limited to:
  • Maintaining daily machine start-up records
  • Sets up and calibrates powder weighing machines
  • May require operating in full fire suit with self-breathing apparatus
  • Controls extruder speed through designated cycle times and pressure valve adjustments
  • Maintains extruder barrel and die temperatures, vacuum settings, and measures completed pellet features per blueprint requirements
  • Maintains a safe and clean working environment
  • Keeps necessary daily production records
• Pressing Operation: Duties include, but are not specifically limited to:
  • Maintains daily machine start-up records
  • Sets up and calibrates powder weighing machines
  • May require operating in full fire suit with self-breathing apparatus
  • Operates press in automatic mode or in manual cycle
  • Controls press designated cycle time
  • Maintains instrumentation control panel and measures completed flare or bagged composition features per blueprint requirements
  • Maintains accurate critical technical data through statistical process control
  • Maintains a safe and clean working environment
  • Keeps necessary daily production records
• Tooling Operation: Duties include, but are not specifically limited to:
  • Operation of computerized numerical controlled milling machines (CNC)
  • As well as conventional milling and drilling machines
  • Including machining of pellets
  • Maintains daily machine start-up records
  • Requires machine lubrication
  • Maintains coolant reservoir levels
  • Monitoring filtration system
  • Referencing X-Y-Z axis as required during daily operation
  • Measures completed machined pellet features per blueprint requirements

Qualifications

• Able to follow written and verbal instructions
• Able to work without close supervision
• Basic reading and math skills
• Able to wear required PPE equipment such as a full-up fire suit with self-breathing apparatus
• Physical requirements include heavy lifting and movement of drums (50 lbs.)
• High School or GED equivalent education
• 2 - 3 years experience in a Manufacturing environment
• Some experience with operation of machinery
• U.S. citizenship or Permanent Resident Alien Status required
