PWE Linux Systems Administrator (Onsite)

About the role

Collins Aerospace is a leader in technologically advanced, intelligent solutions that help redefine the aerospace and defense industry. We are looking for a System Admin who is Linux focused. This is an onsite position in Richardson, TX.

Responsibilities

You will work with one or more of the following Linux-focused technologies: Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), Ubuntu Server, configuration management and automation (Ansible preferred), virtualization platforms, server hardware and system services, networking and storage technologies, and backup and restoration tools.

You will regularly work with other members of the organization as part of a cross-functional team, build strong working relationships with customers and peers, and assist in driving escalations to resolution across Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 support levels.

You will participate in improvement of internal processes (LEAN/ACE/CORE), use your technical knowledge and Linux experience to facilitate resolution of service requests and restoration tickets, and support the implementation, deployment, and maintenance of Linux solutions for assigned projects.

You will contribute to automation, hardening, and operational stability efforts across the Secure Labs environment.

Qualifications

Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience.

U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance. DoD Secret Clearance is needed day one.

• Linux Systems Administration (RHEL and Ubuntu required)
• Server administration and virtualization technologies (VMware, etc.)
• Networking fundamentals
• Compliance frameworks (NIST 800-53)
• Ability to obtain IAT Level II certification (e.g., Sec+). Active certification preferred.
• Ability to obtain a Collateral Secret Govt. Security Clearance, up to Top Secret. Active clearance preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

• Linux administration certifications (RHCSA, RHCE, Ubuntu, etc.)
• Automation / configuration management certifications (Ansible, Puppet, etc.)
• Security certifications (Sec+, CISSP, etc.)

Pay

The salary range for this role is $86,800 - $165,200.
