About the role
RTX, the world's largest aerospace and defense company, seeks a Server Infrastructure Manager to join our team. This role is critical in managing and optimizing server infrastructure in a heterogeneous environment.
Responsibilities
- Manage and optimize the server infrastructure in a heterogeneous information system.
- Provide IT systems administration in a heterogeneous Microsoft Windows and Red Hat Enterprise Linux environment.
- Lead a team of System Administrators to ensure the confidentiality, integrity and availability of IT systems and applications within their assigned section.
- Guide administrators whose duties may include setting up administrator and service accounts, maintaining system documentation, tuning system performance, installing system wide software and allocating mass storage space.
- Work with Cybersecurity professionals to maintain security requirements and provide documentation and training on advanced IT processes and procedures and other tasks as assigned.
- Participate in Change Request reviews, to include participating in Change Management boards at multiple program levels.
- Coordinate technical and process document reviews and resolve system administration, engineering, and integration issues.
- Lead and participate in technical meetings with team members and other program personnel, representing the organization in functional area matters.
Qualifications
- Typically requires a university degree or equivalent experience and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and a minimum of 5 years’ experience.
- An active and transferable US Secret Clearance is required.
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
- Experience as a Linux System Administrator.
- Experience with at least 2 but not limited to, the following technologies: VMware, Kubernetes, OpenShift, Podman, OpenShift, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform and/or Ansible), Windows administration.
- Qualifications We Prefer:
- Patch management, OS Upgrades, computer security, system monitoring and logging.
- Experience with Storage Area Network (SAN) and Network Attached Storage (NAS) systems. Experience with NetApp, Veeam.
- Experience with requirements gathering, planning, and managing deployment, installation, maintenance and upgrade efforts, over multiple geographic sites.
- Experience managing IT services and support in a 24/7 real-time operational environment.
- Experience with Linux/Windows Scripting.

Pay
The salary range for this role is 107,500 USD - 204,500 USD.
