About the Role
Raytheon is seeking a Principal Systems Administrator to support classified IT infrastructures in a highly collaborative, multi-platform environment. This full-time, 100% onsite position involves deploying and maintaining RedHat Linux and Windows systems, managing storage and file servers, configuring software and licenses, and providing workstation support. Daily tasks may include building IT infrastructure, strategizing disaster recovery, updating security patches, and collaborating with engineers to improve processes.
Responsibilities
- Provide system administration in a heterogeneous Windows and RedHat Enterprise Linux environment.
- Manage and troubleshoot infrastructure services, including DNS, file sharing protocols, DHCP, AD integration via LDAP, and file system structures and permissions.
- Resolve technical problems of moderate to high complexity, integrating hardware and operating systems.
- Implement and manage data backup technologies.
- Install and configure software applications for end users.
- Maintain security requirements in collaboration with Cybersecurity professionals.
- Comply with Department of Defense Directive (DoDD) 8140 / 8570 certification requirements (e.g., CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent) or obtain certification within 6 months of hire.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of relevant experience, or a master’s degree and 5 years of prior relevant experience.
- Active and in-scope U.S. DoD Secret security clearance (required on day 1).
- U.S. citizenship (required for security clearance eligibility).
- Linux experience.
- Experience in one or more of the following: Active Directory, VMware, system hardening, or disaster recovery.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with NISPOM, JAFAN, JSIG, DFARS, and/or DoD/RMF.
- Experience with High Performance Computing (HPC) environments.
- Experience with Enterprise Active Directory (AD) and LDAP.
- Experience with security tools such as SCAP, Nessus, Splunk, Symantec, and system hardening.
- Experience supporting engineers in software, simulations, or hardware development.
- Ability to troubleshoot and document solutions for technical problems in real time.

Pay
The salary range for this role is $86,800 – $165,200 USD. The final offer considers factors such as role, function, responsibilities, work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
