PV Solar Field Technician I (Appleseed - Logansport, IN)

About the role
This position sits within the Power Generation Division, responsible for all of NextEra Energy's non-nuclear generation operations, exceeding 40,000 megawatts (MW) of installed capacity. Based in Logansport, IN, the Site Technician will operate and maintain solar PV collection assemblies, battery energy storage, and AC/DC inverters across multiple solar power plants to ensure safe, efficient, and environmentally sound operations.
The role includes maintaining tools, shops, vehicles, and work locations in safe conditions, performing daily inspections for fluid system breaches, mechanical misalignment, and electrical failures, and troubleshooting solar arrays and inverters. The candidate will support teammates in nearby states and maintain reliability, operations, and maintenance for assigned sites.
Responsibilities
- Reliability engineering and warranty management
- Operation and basic maintenance of electrical, electronic, and mechanical equipment
- Electrical and power electronics troubleshooting and repairs
- Safety and environmental program stewardship
- Supervisory duties for NextEra Energy employees and contractors
- Mechanical troubleshooting and repairs
- Business duties and inventory management

- Perform other job-related duties as assigned
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- 2+ years of relevant experience
- Valid driver’s license (non-CDL)
Preferred Qualifications
- Trade school graduate
- Licensed electrician or master electrician
- Six Sigma Yellow Belt certification
