PV Designer - Renewables

Duties

• Work independently and as part of a team to design, manage and complete project designs
• Collaborate with other internal divisions and external clients in a professional manner
• Engage in design training and mentoring activities that build a strong technical foundation
• Follow industry best practices and LaBella standards to design and draft clear and cost-effective construction set deliverables
• Review project drawings and documentation
• Calculate and design PV stringing layout
• Size cables, overcurrent protective devices and equipment ratings per NEC
• Layout of Point of Interconnection equipment
• Coordinate with client and Civil Engineer regarding site layout
• Grounding design per NEC and utility requirements
• Transformer, inverter and combiner box selection and installation details
• Equipment and material specification, selection, and review
• Ensure project compliance with NFPA 70 (NEC) and IEEE-C2 (NESC)
• Conduct site visits

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, energy engineering, engineering technology or related program
• AutoCAD (or similar) experience
• 5+ years professional engineering experience
• 3+ years professional engineering experience in the energy or construction industries
• PREFERRED: 3+ years of experience working in the energy industry
• New York State Professional Engineer's license is a plus
• Experience in the following software is a plus: PVCase, PVSyste, Tap

Salary Range

Salary Range: $70,000 - $80,000 per year
