About the role
Independently purchases a wide range of goods, supplies, equipment, services, etc., for an organization using informal purchasing methods; and performs other related duties as assigned.
Responsibilities
- Read, comprehend and apply written directions.
- Perform basic arithmetic computations.
- Request information from others and explain procedural requirements orally and in writing.
- Prepare and submit requisitions for purchasing.
- Gather information regarding the desired product and alternatives.
- Obtain information regarding prices and/or obtain quotations.
- Write up the requisition for submittal for purchasing.
- Ensure proper procedures were followed.
- Examine documents supporting governmental purchases for validity and accuracy.
- Prepare or review and approve vouchers authorizing payments.
Requirements
- Legal Authorization To Work Requirement: Must be a citizen, national, or permanent resident alien of the United States, or eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment in the United States.
- Basic Experience: Work experience demonstrating the ability to read, comprehend and apply written directions, and perform basic arithmetic computations.
- General Experience: Two (2) years of responsible work experience involving information-gathering and writing as described under General Experience, above.
- Relevant Substitutions: May be applied for experience which demonstrates the possession and application of a good working knowledge of governmental purchasing methods, laws, regulations, policies, procedures and requirements.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Two (2) years of responsible work experience.
- Experience in governmental purchasing methods, laws, regulations, policies, procedures and requirements.
Skills
- Ability to read, comprehend and apply written directions.
- Basic arithmetic computations.
- Information-gathering and writing skills.
- Knowledge of governmental purchasing methods, laws, regulations, policies, procedures and requirements.

- Temporary Disability Insurance: Qualified employees may be eligible to receive benefits for a disability caused by a non-work related injury or illness under this program.
- Social Security: As an employer, the State also contributes to an employee's social security account.
Pay
$3,606 to $4,563 per month (SR-11 Step C to I).
