About the role
Independently purchases a wide range of goods, supplies, equipment, services, etc., for an organization using informal purchasing methods; and performs other related duties as assigned.
Responsibilities
- Reads, comprehends, and applies written directions.
- Performs basic arithmetic computations.
- Requests information from others and explains procedural requirements orally and in writing.
- Prepares and submits requisitions for purchasing.
- Writes up requisitions for submittal for purchasing.
- Gathers information regarding the desired product and alternatives.
- Obtains information regarding prices and/or obtains quotations.
- Ensures proper procedures are followed.
- Prepares vouchers authorizing payments.
- Reviews and approves vouchers.
Requirements
- Two (2) years of responsible work experience which demonstrated the ability to request information from others and to explain procedural requirements orally and in writing.
- Knowledge/experience as described under A or B below.
Qualifications
- Good working knowledge of governmental purchasing methods, laws, regulations, policies, procedures and requirements.
- Experience examining documents supporting governmental purchases.
- Experience preparing and submitting requisitions for purchasing.

Pay
- $3,606 to $4,563 per month (SR-11 Step C to I).
