Purchasing Supervisor

About the role

The Purchasing Supervisor is responsible for supervising overall purchasing processes and activities, which include contracting, bidding, and procuring products and services.

Responsibilities

• Review and approve purchase requisitions and purchase orders.
• Develop and maintain related documentation.
• Manage vendor relations, including maintaining vendor report cards and supervising vendor performance.
• Evaluate suppliers for material, service, performance, and price; qualify and/or approve new suppliers and contractors.
• Maintain inventory of production materials and perform daily and quarterly reviews of inventory levels; set stock reorder quantities.
• Act as a subject‑matter expert on purchasing policies, procedures, and guidelines.
• Supervise assigned staff.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Experience with procurement and/or purchasing in the oil and gas industry.
• Knowledge of MRP (material requirements planning) processes in an ERP system.
