About the role
The Purchasing Supervisor will assist management in obtaining the quality and quantity of food and beverage products ordered at the quoted price utilizing a bid system to safeguard the company’s investment in food and beverage inventory and to provide management with accurate and timely operational statistics and/or reports.
How You’ll Shape The Experience & Future
- Monitor month-to-date food and beverage costs, budgets, and purchasing activity; implement proactive measures to meet or exceed budgeted food cost targets.
- Procure goods and services by obtaining competitive bids and managing weekly and monthly vendor quote sheets.
- Maintain effective communication and foster professional, respectful relationships with guests, associates, and vendors.
- Manage monthly food and beverage inventory processes, including price updates, inventory counts, transfers, reconciliations, and reporting to accounting.
- Prepare and analyze food and beverage cost reports and other requested reports to support management decision-making and operational evaluations.
- Audit food and beverage invoices for pricing accuracy, discounts, and credits; coordinate with accounting to ensure accurate vendor payments.
- Control product issuance through proper authorization procedures and account for daily food and beverage inventory usage.
- Review, evaluate, and reconcile month-end food and beverage results, reporting findings to the Food & Beverage Director and Executive Chef.
- Receive, record, ship, and distribute hotel and guest packages; operate carts and pallet jacks to transport items to designated locations.
- Maintain liquor rooms, wine storage areas, and bottle-for-bottle inventory systems; assist with monthly inventories, spot checks, and ensure accurate liquor, beer, and wine inventory levels at all times.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent
- 2 Years of Purchasing Agent experience or Food and Beverage outlet supervisor experience.
- Culinary Supervisor experience is acceptable
Successful completion of a background check is required prior to employment.
