About the role
The Purchasing Specialist organizes, controls, and monitors purchasing activities for assigned materials—including machine parts, MRO, and packaging—at the Hanwha Q CELLS GA Plant. This position introduces purchasing strategies to maximize contribution to the operating result and works within a cross-functional team environment across the Hanwha Q CELLS GA Plant and other Hanwha Group subsidiaries.
Responsibilities
- Track the progress of purchase orders from creation to delivery.
- Check purchase requisitions, purchase orders, and goods receipts in SAP (including monthly AP closing).
- Determine purchase orders based on sales forecasts and stock levels.
- Manage goods receipt, article creation/modification, system flow, and other SAP transactions.
- Follow payment and financial issues with the Finance Department.
- Serve as the key contact for inventory management coordination.
- Manage out-of-stock and risk scenarios with quality, export service, packaging, and marketing teams.
- Negotiate with overseas plants and propose optimal logistic solutions.
- Report on annual expenditures and savings aligned with the business plan.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders on purchasing tasks.
- Negotiate competitive unit prices and contract terms with external accounts.
- Supervise supplier performance in lead time, reactivity, reliability, and flexibility.
- Participate in production planning and capacity optimization.
- Optimize inland and overseas transport to reduce costs.
- Manage purchasing tasks by supplier type to align with material properties.
- Maintain close relationships with suppliers on machine parts management, lead-time, expedition, and reception.
- Intensively manage suppliers during issues.
- Act as the key supply chain contact for assigned suppliers.
- Build collaboration networks with other supply chain services for process synchronization.
- Adhere to Hanwha Q CELLS policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by management.
Requirements
- Bilingual in Korean.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.
- 2–5 years of purchasing or procurement experience.
- Strong knowledge of purchasing and/or procurement processes.
- Ability to travel by car and overseas.
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment, including non-climate-controlled areas.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the high-tech manufacturing industry and startups.
- Proficiency in Chinese (spoken and written).
- Proficiency in MS Office applications and SAP.
