About the role
Topcon Healthcare is seeking a highly analytical and results-driven Purchasing Specialist to manage purchasing activities, supplier negotiations, inventory planning, forecasting, and vendor contracts. The ideal candidate will be an expert in Excel and AI-based data analysis, with experience using SAP, SAP S/4HANA, and Salesforce or similar platforms. This position requires working at our Oakland, New Jersey office and is not remote or hybrid.
Responsibilities
- Analyze purchasing, inventory, usage, and sales data using advanced Excel and AI tools.
- Prepare accurate purchasing and inventory forecasts based on sales projections, historical demand, lead times, and business requirements.
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, lead times, and purchasing agreements with vendors.
- Negotiate Service Level Agreements, supplier contracts, and other commercial terms.
- Process and manage RTS (Return to Supplier) transactions and related vendor documentation.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and ensure the company receives the best available pricing and contract terms.
- Monitor inventory levels and maintain appropriate minimum and maximum stock levels.
- Prepare and manage Min/Max inventory, reorder-point, safety-stock, shortage-risk, and excess-inventory reports.
- Prevent shortages, excess inventory, and obsolete stock through effective inventory planning.
- Evaluate vendor performance based on pricing, quality, reliability, lead time, and SLA compliance.
- Use SAP or SAP S/4HANA to manage purchasing, inventory, purchase orders, vendor records, and related transactions.
- Use Salesforce to review sales forecasts, customer demand, business requirements, and purchasing-related information.
- Use AI tools to analyze large datasets, automate reporting, identify trends, improve forecasting, and increase purchasing efficiency.
- Work closely with Sales, Operations, Finance, Warehouse, Customer Support, and other departments.
Requirements
- Expert-level Excel skills, including PivotTables, XLOOKUP, advanced formulas, dashboards, Power Query, data modeling, and large-data analysis.
- Strong experience using AI tools for data analysis, forecasting, reporting, and process automation.
- Experience with SAP, SAP S/4HANA, and Salesforce.
- Proven experience preparing purchasing, demand, or inventory forecasts.
- Strong vendor negotiation and cost-reduction skills.
- Experience negotiating SLAs, supplier agreements, pricing contracts, and other commercial terms.
- Experience processing RTS transactions and managing supplier returns.
- Experience managing Min/Max inventory levels, reorder points, lead times, and safety stock.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to identify trends, risks, and cost-saving opportunities.
- Excellent communication, contract-management, and vendor-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
Pay
Expected Base Pay Range: $85,000 to $105,000 annualized. In addition to base pay, this position includes eligibility for a 5% annual bonus.
