Purchasing Specialist

Full‑time position with The Conrad Company, a fast‑growing, award‑winning family‑owned business located in York, PA. The Purchasing Specialist will join the supply chain department at the PennAir facility, supporting manufacturing and construction customers with pneumatics, hydraulics, and automation.

Responsibilities

• Daily execution of sourcing, quoting, purchasing, and order acknowledgement activities.
• ERP replenish and MRP system review.
• Supplier management and follow‑up for on‑time delivery, quality, cost, and lead time.
• Supplier follow‑up and expediting as necessary.
• Inventory planning and regular evaluation/optimization of replenishment levels.
• ERP supplier and pricing master‑data updating.
• Drive cost savings through alternative sourcing, blanket and bulk‑buy purchase orders, negotiations, and tariff cost mitigation.
• Support initiatives to improve carrying cost and inventory turns by managing obsolescence and aged/slow‑moving inventory.
• Support business units with material planning and forecasting.
• Cross‑functional department coordination and support.
• Implement new workflows and process improvements for inventory, distribution, and production order management.
• Improve ERP/MRP system and daily purchasing processes, sharing best practices with team members.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of experience in distribution and/or manufacturing in purchasing and planning roles.
• Strong background in purchasing and planning with an understanding of ERP/MRP systems and procurement best practices; experience with Acumatica ERP/MRP is desired.
• Demonstrated ability to improve workflows and processes for purchase‑order management, material planning, inventory management, and replenishment.
• Leadership potential and a collaborative, team‑player mindset.
• Understanding of supply‑chain KPIs, supplier management, and performance.

Pay

Salary range: $70,000 – $80,000 per year.
