About the role
Lead and coordinate activities of purchasing for assigned division or product category.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with product manager, engineering, and vendors to develop new products and bring new products to the market or redesign the products to achieve cost competitiveness.
- Lead project and influence different functions to achieve goals, assure results are accomplished and delivered on time.
- Identify potential quality risks and improve product cost through methods such as increasing production efficiency, re-engineering, and material changing.
- Approach tasks and projects in a streamlined manner to minimize rework and maximize efficiency.
- Maintain effective business relationships with vendors associated with assigned product categories and monitor contract compliance.
- Lead supplier scorecard process and develop new products.
- Collaborate with teams to provide solutions or escalation and act as a team player and facilitator among teams.
Requirements
Must be able to know the potential quality risk, know how to improve product cost, and apply knowledge of processes, product, and resources to minimize rework and maximize efficiency.

Skills
Ability to approach tasks and projects in a streamlined manner, identify priorities, and proactively be aware of potential changes with vendors or in related manufacturing industry.
