About the role
Northwest Aerospace Technologies (NAT), a Safran Company, is the only EASA DOA Certified aircraft interior reconfiguration group in the United States. Focusing on commercial and military aircraft, NAT provides first-class services in design, engineering, quality, certification, and manufacturing for a variety of Blue-Chip customers.
This is a professional/mid-level position within the field. The role leads and administers the Purchasing Staff, identifying, suggesting, and implementing the development of purchasing strategies and systems under the supervision of the Director of Operations.
Responsibilities
- Supervise Purchasing personnel to implement values and objectives in order to achieve corporate goals and optimum performance.
- Assign purchasing and scheduling duties based on business requirements.
- Establish and/or oversee training as required.
- Ensure performance from purchasing personnel based on standards and goals.
- Identify and address personnel issues.
- Organize, analyze, and report data including root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Ensure the purchasing department follows all guidelines and procedures.
- Support buyers in any escalated issues or concerns.
- Work with the Production supervisor on a daily basis to monitor status and scheduling to obtain on-time delivery of products based on information provided by planning and purchasing teams.
- Input data into various systems and create/prepare reports for customer meetings.
- Mentor and support buyers in any inquiry.
- Work proactively to optimize supply chain operations through creative solutions acting alone and/or in teams.
- Drive operational excellence and provide Supply Chain expertise to other functional areas.
- Demonstrate leadership and business acumen in actions, interactions, and decisions.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree required (preferably in Supply Chain management or a related field) or comparable experience.
- 10 years of experience in a production environment.
- Solid understanding of Production Planning and Production Scheduling best practices and principles.
Skills
- Proficient with Windows Operating System® and Office XP®.
- Experience with AutoCAD.
- LN knowledge desired (not required).
- APICS certification preferred (not required).
