About the role
You will take command of our procurement operations, directly influencing production efficiency by securing high-quality steel and manufacturing supplies. This role offers the autonomy to negotiate pivotal vendor contracts and build a resilient supply chain that supports our continuous growth.
Responsibilities
- Manage the strategic procurement of steel, raw materials, fabricated components, and essential manufacturing supplies.
- Negotiate high-value supplier contracts, pricing structures, and delivery timelines to maximize cost-efficiency.
- Identify and qualify elite new vendors to improve material quality, secure cost savings, and boost supply reliability.
- Monitor real-time inventory levels while partnering with production teams to prevent material stockouts.
- Analyze market purchasing trends to design and execute proactive, quality-focused cost-reduction initiatives.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, and Accounting departments to seamlessly align procurement with manufacturing goals.
- Evaluate ongoing supplier performance metrics to quickly resolve any quality, variance, or delivery disputes.
Requirements
- 5+ years of dedicated purchasing or procurement experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Strong negotiation, strategic sourcing, and vendor management skills.
- Proven experience with structured inventory planning and material tracking.
- High proficiency utilizing ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office software.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple high-priority procurement projects simultaneously.
Qualifications
- Procurement experience specifically within the steel, metal fabrication, or industrial manufacturing industry.
- Active professional procurement certifications (e.g., CPM, CPSM, or CSCP).
- Advanced experience with supply chain analytics and forecasting tools.
