Purchasing Manager

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategies for supply chain management, vendor management, and cost optimization.
• Manage supply chain operations, IT Asset management practices, while ensuring audit readiness.
• Hold vendors accountable to expected outcomes.
• Analyze market data to forecast trends, improve purchasing power, and guide roadmap development.
• Supervise, train, and mentor staff, including hiring, delegating assignments, and performance monitoring.
• Drive continuous improvement in asset management and lifecycle processes, ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.

Qualifications

• Proven experience directing and coordinating procurement, warehousing, inventory control, and distribution functions.
• Demonstrated success in overseeing the full lifecycle of vendor engagements.
• Ability to perform advanced research on market trends, pricing, and supply chain forces to inform decision-making and ensure agency financial viability.
• Experience supervising professional and office support staff, including hiring, delegating assignments, training, and performance monitoring.
• Strong working knowledge of federal and/or state laws, regulations, and agency rules governing procurement.
• Expert oral and written communication skills with the ability to convey complex policies and procedures to diverse stakeholders.
• Proficient in deductive reasoning and data analysis to interpret results, report findings, and drive process improvements.
