What The Purchasing Manager Entails
The successful Purchasing Manager will:
- Lead end-to-end procurement operations across multiple sites, owning sourcing, contracting, planning, inventory, warehousing, supplier management, and continuity of supply.
- Drive cost and inventory performance, delivering PPV, savings, and cost reduction targets while optimizing total landed cost, freight, COGS, and inventory levels.
- Build and lead a high-performing procurement team, establishing clear accountability, KPI-driven performance management, capability development, and succession planning.
- Develop strategic supplier partnerships, leading supplier selection, sourcing, negotiations, risk management, and long-term supplier performance to achieve cost, quality, and delivery objectives.
- Partner cross-functionally to enable business growth, supporting NPI, engineering, operations, quality, and finance while driving procurement governance, continuous improvement, and make-or-buy decisions.
Requirements
- 8–10+ years relevant procurement experience.
- Progressive people leadership experience.
- Strong emotional intelligence and team-building capability.
- Contracting and supplier management expertise.
- Experience in manufacturing supply chains with engineering change, component management and NPI exposure.
