Purchasing Manager
About the role
The Purchasing Manager oversees the procurement of goods and services, ensuring materials are sourced cost-effectively, delivered on time, and meet quality standards. This role ensures procurement activities align with college policies, regulatory guidelines, and applicable state laws. In addition, the Purchasing Manager supports facility construction projects through project management activities and oversees fixed asset inventory management processes. Through these responsibilities, the position helps the college maintain efficient operations, control expenses, and minimize procurement-related risks.
Responsibilities
- Oversight of procurement activities to ensure cost-effectiveness, timely delivery, and compliance with quality standards
- Ensuring procurement activities align with college policies, regulatory guidelines, and state laws
- Project management support for facility construction projects
- Overseeing fixed asset inventory management processes
- Maintaining efficient operations, controlling expenses, and minimizing procurement-related risks
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in purchasing, supply chain management, or a related field
- Experience managing large-scale procurement projects
- Knowledge of procurement regulations and best practices
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
