About the role

As a Purchasing Manager in the Administration department at Merrillville, IN, you will be responsible for managing the procurement process, negotiating contracts, and ensuring compliance with policies and regulations. In the Counter Sales - Floater position in Lynwood, IL, you will assist in managing the sales floor, handling customer inquiries, and maintaining a high level of customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the procurement process and negotiate contracts to ensure cost-effectiveness and compliance with policies and regulations.
  • Collaborate with other departments to identify and secure necessary supplies and equipment.
  • Ensure all purchases adhere to budgetary guidelines and comply with internal controls and policies.
  • Handle customer inquiries and complaints, providing prompt and courteous service.
  • Train and mentor new employees, ensuring they understand company policies and procedures.
  • Assist in maintaining a clean and organized sales environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in purchasing, supply chain management, or a similar field.
  • Strong negotiation skills and ability to build relationships with suppliers.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel for data analysis and project management.

Qualifications

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize responsibilities effectively.
  • Knowledge of industry best practices and trends in procurement and supply chain management.
  • Experience with inventory management systems and software.
  • Understanding of legal and regulatory requirements related to procurement and supply chain management.
