Purchasing Manager

dormakaba is seeking a Purchasing Manager based in Chino, CA. This role provides leadership and management of the local Purchasing team while collaborating with regional and global purchasing professionals. The position works closely with engineering, production, production planning, and other key departments to source and deliver materials such as fabricated sheet metal components, machined parts, and electrical components from domestic and overseas vendors. Responsibilities include ensuring timely and cost-effective acquisition of products, materials, service contracts, and capital equipment used in manufacturing and assembly processes.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Purchasing department activities at the plant level and provide leadership for the local team.
• Collaborate with dormakaba purchasing professionals regionally and globally, as well as with multiple internal departments.
• Plan and develop purchasing strategies aligned with regional and corporate objectives.
• Lead and monitor continuous improvement initiatives to identify new sources, products, materials, and processes for cost savings and operational efficiency.
• Manage and coordinate projects to improve the efficiency of purchasing and materials functions.

Requirements

• 5+ years of buying experience in a mid-sized manufacturing environment.
• Strong analytical skills and understanding of S&OP processes.
• Experience in independent sourcing of fabricated sheet metal, machined, and electromechanical components.
• Basic understanding of manufacturing drawings and ability to interact effectively with engineers.
• Excellent knowledge of procurement and purchasing functions, familiarity with inventory control procedures, and experience with MRP systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field (preferred).
• APICS certification (preferred).
• Overseas buying experience (preferred).

Pay

Base salary range: $120,000 – $140,000, plus a generous short-term incentive bonus. Salary is determined by education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, internal equity, and market alignment.
