Responsibilities
- Develop, lead, and execute purchasing strategies.
- Forecast price and market trends to identify changes in buyer-supplier power.
- Review purchase requests and approve all purchase orders while maintaining SOX compliance.
- Oversee all Receiving functions for incoming goods, solve problems as they arise, and implement preventative guidelines.
- Negotiate contracts proactively with suppliers for various products and services.
- Qualify and monitor supplier compliance for ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 quality certifications.
- Forecast monthly supply spend in various categories and monitor/report daily and weekly actuals to management while adjusting based on business conditions.
- Forecast monthly utility usages and monitor/report daily and weekly actuals to management while adjusting as needed.
- Work with divisional procurement on utility contracts and seasonal price hedging.
- Identify annual cost savings through price negotiations, lean initiatives, and supplier support.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or related field.
- Proven working experience as a Purchasing Manager.
- Strong leadership capabilities, contract negotiation skills, and analytical abilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret purchase agreements.
- A knack for negotiation and networking.
- Strong understanding of market conditions and trends.
- Solid judgement along with decision-making skills.
- Experience with ERP systems such as JDE or Oracle.
- Institute for Supply Management certification such as CPSM or CPSD (a plus).
Skills
- Regulatory Knowledge: Understanding of industry-specific regulations ensures compliance and mitigates risks associated with procurement.
- Team Leadership: Skills in managing and developing a purchasing team.
- Process Improvements: Previous experience implementing new procurement processes or technologies that increased efficiency and reduced lead times.
- Cost Savings Achievements: Proven record of cost savings to the business.
Schedule
Working onsite from Newnan, Georgia location Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM.
