Petersen Industries LLC, located in Lake Wales, Florida, is seeking a Purchasing Coordinator to provide administrative and operational support to the Purchasing Department.
About the role
The Purchasing Coordinator assists with procurement activities, maintains purchasing records, coordinates with vendors, monitors inventory levels, and ensures timely delivery of materials required for manufacturing operations.
Responsibilities
- Assess inventory levels and procurement data to forecast supply requirements and optimize purchasing decisions.
- Maintain and sustain strategic partnerships with vendors and stakeholders to ensure favorable pricing, reliable service, and high satisfaction.
- Administer the end-to-end purchasing lifecycle, drafting and processing Purchase Orders in alignment with operational requirements.
- Monitor open orders, proactively track shipments, and communicate real-time delivery statuses to relevant stakeholders.
- Analyze supply chain workflows to identify potential production bottlenecks and implement cost-effective, timely solutions.
- Maintain accurate logs and update internal databases with comprehensive order metrics and timelines.
- Act as the central point of contact between cross-functional departments to resolve supply issues and communicate ETA updates.
- Pivot seamlessly to changing operational demands, prioritizing critical tasks to maintain workflow efficiency in dynamic environments.
- Perform any other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 2-3 years of purchasing, procurement, inventory, or supply chain experience, preferably in manufacturing.
- Proficiency in Excel and Word.
- Experience with ERP systems, preferably Epicor.
- Strong communication, time management, and organizational skills.
- Attention to detail and analytical skills.
Physical Requirements
- Frequently sit for extended periods while working at a computer.
- Frequently use hands and fingers to operate computers, office equipment, and telephones.
- Occasionally stand and walk throughout office, warehouse, and manufacturing areas.
- Occasionally bend, stoop, reach, climb stairs, and kneel.
- Occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull up to 30 pounds.
- Frequently communicate verbally and in writing with employees, vendors, and customers.
- Frequently use close vision and the ability to read computer screens, technical documents, and purchase orders.
Work Environment
- Primarily performed in an office environment.
- Regular interaction with warehouse and manufacturing areas.
- Exposure to moving mechanical equipment, forklifts, overhead cranes, welding operations, and moderate industrial noise when entering production areas.
- Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn when required in manufacturing areas.
- Regular attendance and punctuality are essential functions of the position.
