Overview
Susquehanna is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Purchasing Associate with existing experience in the field of purchasing. Our purchasing team works directly with our business and technology teams as well as with external vendors to identify and purchase assets to meet our business needs in a fast-paced environment. This could be through the use of existing inventory and/or through the purchase of new equipment or services. You will work directly with existing vendors, as well as research potential new vendors when necessary.
Procurements
- Software, hardware, SaaS solutions, and IT services to support business operations
- Track and manage new and existing subscriptions, maintenance, and support
- Purchase domains and issue security certificates
- Purchase marketing-related items, including signage and promotional materials
- Collaborate with Procurement to align purchasing decisions with security, scalability, and integration requirements
- Identify and evaluate suppliers, ensuring they meet quality, cost, and delivery expectations
- Conduct market research and analyze cost trends to drive cost savings and efficiency
- Maintain and manage supplier relationships, including performance evaluations and issue resolution
- Process purchase orders and review invoices
- Ensure all purchases comply with company policies and industry regulations
- Test and provide feedback on existing and future purchasing processes/systems
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
- 4+ years of procurement or purchasing experience, preferably in technology categories
- Strong vendor management skills
- Knowledge of contract terms, pricing models, and cost analysis
- Expertise with procurement software, ERP systems, and Excel for reporting and analysis
- Able to manage multiple projects, work cross-functionally, and meet deadlines
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- High level of attention to detail
- Able to lift/move objects in excess of 50 pounds
