Responsibilities

  • Create, review, approve, and send Purchase Orders (POs) to vendors
  • Monitor all orders placed with vendors and update the status according to the information provided
  • Contact vendors (by phone or email) to expedite, cancel, check status, or amend a PO
  • Use UPS, FedEx, LTL information, and the shipping tool to update the delivery status
  • Create Item Fulfillments for Drop Ship POs and Sales Orders
  • Collaborate with Order Management team members and Engineering to resolve issues, such as delays that impact customer satisfaction
  • Work closely with the Shipping Department to ensure all packages/items are received and monitor missing/lost items
  • Assist the Accounting Department in resolving invoice issues such as price discrepancies, incorrect quantities, and miscellaneous fees
  • Manage select inventory levels (Preferred Stock Level Management) to ensure proper stock levels for daily business

Requirements

  • Capability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to ensure smooth interactions across departments and with vendors
  • Knowledge and comfort with computers, with the ability to navigate multiple systems

Preferred Skills

  • Familiarity with NetSuite or similar business management software
  • Experience sharing a workload while working as part of a team
  • Experience working in an open office environment

Safety & Compliance Responsibilities

  • Follow company safety policies and procedures and use required PPE
  • Complete the required safety trainings
  • Report hazards, unsafe conditions, and work-related injuries

Work Environment

This position is located in South Burlington, Vermont. The Purchasing Associate works in a typical office environment with a climate-controlled, comfortable temperature year-round. The office is clean, well-lit with natural light, and involves substantial time spent at a desk with computer work.
