About the role
The Purchasing Assistant/Materials Management Clerk is responsible for managing the procurement process, ensuring timely delivery of materials, and maintaining accurate records.
Responsibilities
- Procure materials and supplies in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Research and negotiate prices with vendors.
- Process purchase orders and track order status.
- Update inventory records and maintain accurate records.
- Respond to inquiries from internal departments regarding material availability.
- Prepare reports and provide data analysis as needed.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- One year of related experience in purchasing or materials management.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Qualifications
- Experience with ERP systems is a plus.
- Knowledge of procurement laws and regulations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
