Purchasing Assistant/ Clerk 1st Shift

PRIMARY FUNCTION: Primarily responsible for performing general clerical duties including order data entry and accurate record maintenance. RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS: Perform clerical function related to the processing of orders, ensuring the timely acquisition of supplies, equipment and materialsComplete order entry into purchasing management software including preparing purchase requisitions, generating purchase orders, obtain price quotes when needed, etc.;Monitor and track purchase orders; contact suppliers for late or missing orders when neededPrepare purchasing reports as requested ensuring data reported is accurate and up-to-dateAssist with monthly inventoryAll other relevant duties as requested by supervisor or manager EDUCATION and CERTIFICATIONS: High School diploma or equivalent EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS: Minimum two (2) years’ experience in a clerical positionAbility to communicate (both speak and write) and comprehend English fluentlyAbility to fluently communicate both internally and externally in a timely and professional mannerMust have proficient computer and math skillsSelf-starter who demonstrates strong initiative and sense of urgency, with the ability to work in a fast paced environment when needed and the ability to effectively multi-taskStrong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize to complete tasks while maintaining attention to detailMust be able to work unsupervised to complete all tasks SAFETY REQUIREMENTS: Follow all departmental and company safety policies and programsWear required protective equipment in all areas where mandatory PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to lift 20 lbs frequently and 40 lbs occasionally.
