About the Role

The Purchasing Assistant supports Purchasing Agents in maintaining accurate item and inventory records across all Ring's End systems. This role assists with item setup, pricing updates, MAP programs, discontinued SKUs, and data integrity within GenetiQ. The Purchasing Assistant collaborates with the e-commerce team to ensure products are represented correctly online, including descriptions, images, and digital merchandising standards. Additionally, this role helps implement inventory cycle counts, maintain balanced stock levels, and coordinate hardlines merchandising company-wide.

Responsibilities

• Implement cost and retail price changes in POS/inventory software
• Maintain MAP and PMAP pricing per manufacturer programs
• Add new items into the POS system and oversee discontinued item records
• Review and maintain items in correct groups and sections
• Maintain alternate item codes and keywords
• Work with the e-commerce team to ensure accuracy of product representation
• Adjust and monitor minimum/maximum inventory ranges
• Maintain cycle count records
• Assist in planning and executing coordinated inventory counts
• Suggest promotional items for monthly flyers and promotional postcards
• Plan and implement coordinated merchandising schemes for hardlines across all locations
• Assist in resets, new product programs, and vendor promotions at all locations
• Assist with location vendor events such as demos and tabletop promotions
• Plan endcap displays for all yard locations
• Assist in producing sales aids
• Perform other related tasks as assigned by manager

Requirements

• Flexible and adaptable to rapid changes affecting the position
• Thorough, accurate, and highly detail-oriented with precise record-keeping skills
• Ability to learn and effectively use Microsoft products, POS, and inventory management software
• Willingness to adapt to future platforms as introduced
• Regular travel to all Ring's End locations to support merchandising, inventory cycle counts, and purchasing initiatives
