Job Summary

Loenbro is seeking a Purchasing Agent to play a crucial role in our procurement process. The Purchasing Agent will be responsible for sourcing and procuring materials and equipment essential for our electrical projects, ensuring cost‑effective and efficient supply chains while adhering to quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Identify and evaluate suppliers, negotiate terms and conditions, and establish relationships with vendors to ensure reliable and cost‑effective sources of materials and equipment.
• Place orders for electrical materials, equipment, and supplies in a timely manner to meet project requirements while optimizing cost efficiency.
• Maintain accurate records of inventory levels, track usage, and replenish stock as needed to prevent shortages and reduce excess inventory.
• Monitor and analyze pricing trends, negotiate favorable terms, and implement cost‑saving strategies to maximize profitability and reduce expenses.
• Collaborate with the quality control team to ensure that purchased materials and equipment meet the required standards and specifications.
• Maintain detailed records of all procurement activities, including purchase orders, invoices, and vendor contracts.
• Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other team members to understand project requirements and coordinate procurement efforts accordingly.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field preferred; or a minimum of ten years of purchasing experience in lieu of a degree.
• Proven experience as a Purchasing Agent or in a similar procurement role within the electrical or construction industries.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Proficiency in procurement software and tools.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
