Purchasing Agent (Senior-Level)
Job Responsibilities
- Manage bids and negotiate pricing to drive cost savings.
- Maintain accurate costs and ensure competitive pricing.
- Support sourcing strategies and category management efforts.
- Define scopes of work and partner with trade vendors.
- Collaborate with the operations team on plans and value analysis.
- Build strong vendor and internal relationships.
- Communicate updates, pricing, and expectations clearly.
- Take ownership of responsibilities and drive results.
- Contribute to team success with leadership potential.
Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience in purchasing, estimating, or supply chain (residential homebuilding strongly preferred).
- Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain management, construction management or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Proven negotiation skills and ability to build strong vendor relationships.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
- Self-directed, adaptable, and detail-oriented with disciplined work habits.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel required; JD Edwards a plus).
