Responsibilities

• Reviews requisitions
• Confers with vendors to obtain product or service information such as price, availability, and delivery schedule
• Prepares purchase orders
• Discusses defective or unacceptable goods or services with inspection or quality‑control personnel, users, vendors, and others to determine source of trouble and take corrective action
• Expedites delivery of goods to users
• Creates and distributes manufacturer backorder report
• Performs inventory adjustments and investigates/resolves discrepancies
• Processes backorders for shipment upon receipt
• Analyzes and maintains reorder parameters
• Generates expediting and backorder‑prevention reports
• Reviews and resolves slow‑turning inventory
• Conducts regularly scheduled replenishments
• Conducts periodic location verification
• Reviews, evaluates, and maintains automated inventory reorder parameters
• Completes miscellaneous projects as assigned by supervisor

Qualifications

• 5 years purchasing experience (required)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Good analytical skills
• Ability to multitask
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and data entry
• Inventory‑management experience (preferred)
• Ability to lift 25 lb

Pay

$20 – $27 per hour. This range represents the expected starting base salary for a new employee; actual pay may vary based on education, prior experience, training, current skills, certifications, location/labor market, internal equity, and other factors.
