Purchasing Agent

Key Responsibilities

• Follow procedures to maintain minimum inventory levels and prevent shortages
• Review inventory levels and create vendor purchase orders for stock and non-stock items
• Maintain purchasing parameters to ensure proper service levels
• Collaborate with product team to keep product data accurate
• Expedite and track outstanding orders
• Recommend major purchases based on price or availability changes
• Build professional vendor and branch relationships to achieve common goals
• Resolve vendor procurement issues with sales force
• Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information
• Perform additional duties as needed

  Qualifications

  • Detail oriented with excellent communication and time management skills
  • Self-motivated, positive attitude, able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Intermediate PC skills including Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Purchasing knowledge of order points, line points, demand, safety stock, excess and dead stock
  • A college degree in Industrial Distribution, Business Management, or equivalent industry experience
