About the Role

We are seeking a Purchasing Agent to join our expanding Procurement team in Dallas, TX. At McKinstry, we’re innovating the waste and climate harm out of the built environment and creating lasting impact by addressing the climate, affordability, and equity crises through engineering, design, construction, facility services, renewables, energy services, decarbonization, and electrification.

Responsibilities

  • Purchase materials, services, and equipment at competitive prices.
  • Manage material inventory and control.
  • Interpret specifications and suggest alternate materials and methods.
  • Complete purchasing research related to new sources and products.
  • Competitively bid and/or negotiate maximum discounts for frequently purchased commodities or equipment.
  • Provide daily field support for third-party rental equipment and services, including core drilling, crane picks, saw cutting, and other services identified by the McKinstry Contracts department via the Master Sub Contract program.
  • Perform relief duties for other purchasing personnel as required.
  • Meet regularly with the Purchasing Manager to identify or ascertain problems or challenges.
  • Contribute efficiently to reaching department and company goals through established Purchasing processes and procedures.
  • Communicate regularly with internal departments to understand needs for materials, services, and equipment.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Visio); working knowledge of SharePoint preferred.
  • Four (4) years of previous business supervisory and/or construction-related experience with responsibilities for warehouse, inventory control, and buying required.
  • Experience in the mechanical contractor environment is preferred.
  • ISM or NAPM, CPM certification is preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or related field or equivalent work experience preferred.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $72,090 - $119,300 per year. Base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A bonus may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
