Responsibilities

  • Procure materials, equipment, rentals, and services for civil construction projects under the direction of the Purchasing Manager.
  • Adhere to defined purchasing policies and procedures while actively contributing to the development and refinement of standardized workflows.
  • Issue and track purchase orders.
  • Cook up and communicate effectively with Estimating, Project Managers, Superintendents, Accounting and vendors to ensure proper alignment of purchasing activities.

  • Coordinate material deliveries, lead times, and quantities.
  • Support vendor negotiations to obtain pricing, availability, and delivery schedules.
  • Aid in job cost tracking and project close-out documentation.
  • Maintain accurate records of all purchasing activities.
  • Aid in purchasing audits and internal reviews as needed.

Qualifications

  • An associate or bachelor’s degree in construction management, supply chain, or a relevant field is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of utilities, earthwork, and civil construction materials is required.
  • Experience with HCSS and Foundation, or similar ERP systems is preferred.
  • Three or more years of purchasing or procurement experience in civil, heavy, or site construction is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) is required.
  • The ability to adapt to evolving systems and procedures is required.
  • The ability to work well individually or as a member of a team is required.
