Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration or supply chain management or three to five years of related experience.
• Purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
• Ability to deal effectively and consistently with staff, suppliers, and cross-functional teams.
• Accurate data entry skills and familiarity with spreadsheets and computers.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to work under strict deadlines.
• In-depth knowledge of strategic sourcing methodology.
• Familiarity with transportation modes—parcel, LTL, truckload, air, and courier—is preferred.
• Excellent planning, organization, verbal, and written communication skills; strong negotiating skills.
• Advanced computer skills using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Familiarity with Six Sigma/Lean process improvement is preferred.
• Ability to multitask and respond to deadlines.
• CPM/CPSM certification is preferred.
• Systems experience with SAP is required.

Responsibilities

• Ensure full compliance with approved Purchasing and Contracting Policies and Procedures.
• Obtain goods and services in support of all Arauco business units by placing Purchase Orders within your scope of authority, leveraging existing National Contracts whenever possible. When no National Contract exists, follow Arauco contracting policy to source, develop, and award local or regional contracts within budgetary and authority limits.
• Assist in developing requirements and specifications (R&S) and statements of work (SOW) by providing supplier history, technical/functional data, pricing data, and other relevant information.
• Administer or assist using offices in administering contracts, including establishing supplier relationships, executing modifications/amendments, expediting deliveries, responding to queries, and resolving contractual issues.
• Provide value-added service by identifying new and better products, suppliers, and processes to meet or exceed operational and functional needs.
• Participate in maintenance and operations planning meetings to ensure early purchasing involvement and drive maximum value.
• Assist Arauco storeroom managers with procurement of stocked and non-stocked items.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
