About the role
Morley Moss in Sunnyvale, TX is currently seeking a Purchasing Administrator with 3-5 years of experience in administrative purchasing/procurement capacity.
Responsibilities
- Assist with Procurement Director’s workload, act as a gate keeper and internal/external contact.
- Perform buying duties when necessary.
- Prepare purchase orders and send copies to suppliers and to departments originating requests.
- Compare suppliers' bills with bids and purchase orders to verify accuracy.
- Prepare, maintain, and review purchasing files, reports and price lists.
- Check shipments when they arrive to ensure that orders have been filled correctly and that goods meet specifications.
- Communicate with vendors on behalf of Procurement Director as needed.
- Build in new item codes into payroll database.
- Match packing slips to invoices before passing them on to A/P.
- Resolve invoice, statement, and payment issues.
- Take inventory of office supplies order, sort and distribute as needed.
- Collaborate effectively and professionally with both external (i.e. vendors) and internal (i.e. A/P) departments.
- Able to think analytically and represent Procurement Director in his or her absence or emergency situations.
- Prepare reports by collecting and analyzing information.
- Maintain confidentiality of operations department and company information.
- Comply with I.S.O. 9000:2015 operations work instructions, contracts, safety program, and Company established policies and procedures.
- Escalate critical and/or sensitive issues to the Procurement Director with recommendation for resolution.
- Perform additional assignments as required by the operating needs of the company or as directed by executives.
Qualifications
- 3 - 5 years working in an administrative / procurement capacity.
- Bachelor’s Degree or currently pursuing preferred.
- Comparable relevant work experience also acceptable.
- Working knowledge of procurement, construction industry, and operations management is a plus.
- Working knowledge of federal, state, and city regulations and guidelines.
