Responsibilities
- Answer phone, direct calls, take messages, schedule appointments and relay general information as necessary to community members, school staff and representatives from public and private entities
- Analyze and classify material for filing and maintain general office files
- Perform word processing tasks as assigned, including writing letters, creating meeting invitations, developing student forms and managing spreadsheets and databases
- Process all paperwork related to special education students entering and leaving the district
- Duplicate and distribute special education meeting invitations, evaluation reports and IEPs according to the required timelines
- Maintain and update confidential student records including all records for out of district students and students receiving Medicaid
- Learn and serve as a resource for special education staff who require assistance
- Maintain Aspen database for active, withdrawn and referred special education students
- Maintain databases for all Medicaid eligible students
- Serve as liaison between UMASS Medical (Medicaid) and the school district
- Maintain confidentiality at all times
- Interact with families and staff in a courteous and professional manner
- Perform other administrative duties as requested by the Director of Pupil Personnel Services
