Pump Technician III

About the role

An advanced-level leadership position focused on training, quality assurance, and technical mastery of pump systems. The Pump Technician III provides day-to-day instruction and mentoring to junior technicians, directs teams in jobsite setup and teardown, and ensures safety and quality standards are met. This role serves as a technical expert and customer-facing leader for operations, with potential advancement into supervisory or specialized technical positions.

Responsibilities

• Actively promote and lead E-Tank’s Safety Culture, ensuring teams follow PPE, Lock Out/Tag Out, and jobsite safety standards.
• Conduct safety inspections and enforce compliance with regulations.
• Provide day-to-day instruction, mentoring, and training to Pump Technicians I and II.
• Inspect completed work to ensure quality control and safety standards.
• Direct teams through setup, operation, and teardown of job sites.
• Perform advanced diagnostics and repairs on pumps, priming systems, centrifugal systems, and electrical systems.
• Diagnose and repair advanced engine and trailer-related issues.
• Demonstrate mastery of pump curves to resolve performance issues.
• Execute field-level change orders and project adjustments.
• Act as a subject matter expert for customers and branch staff.
• Align job performance with branch operational and financial goals.
• Promote cooperation and communication across branch and corporate teams.

Requirements

• Advanced-level technical and diagnostic expertise with pumps and electrical systems.
• Proficiency in Pipe Fusion and advanced troubleshooting.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor teams.
• Physically able to lift up to 100 lbs and perform strenuous daily tasks.
• Strong leadership, safety, and customer-service orientation.

Schedule

Full-time, hourly position. Must be available to work assigned shifts, with flexibility for overtime, weekends, and emergency call-ins. Participation in the on-call rotation is required.

Location

Branch-based with extensive fieldwork and customer-facing responsibilities. Industries served include municipal water, wastewater treatment, sewer bypass, lift station bypass, dewatering, construction dewatering, fluid transfer, industrial maintenance, utilities, infrastructure, and environmental.
