Pulpmill & Utilities Shift Supervisor

Safety

The individual in this role ensures personal compliance with Plant safety and Departmental safety rules and enforces shift personnel compliance with Plant safety and Departmental safety rules. They complete necessary reporting for all safety incidents and injuries.

Environmental

The individual ensures personal compliance with ISO 14001 Environmental procedures and Process Safety Management procedures and completes necessary reporting for near miss incidents, public complaints, and environmental incidents.

Production Control / Quality

The individual supervises personnel and operations, assists employees in solving problems, and directs operating parameter adjustments to meet established specifications. They recommend improvements to systems, processes, and procedures to improve production and communicate changes in production to personnel. They record production deviations from standard levels with explanations, record equipment downtime with explanations, and coordinate efforts with other departmental shift supervisors.

Maintenance

The individual inspects equipment with shift personnel and writes work orders for equipment repair. They coordinate equipment repair with Pulpmill Operations Superintendent, Maintenance personnel, and shift personnel. They call in Maintenance personnel on off shifts to repair equipment and assist, develop, coordinate with Operator Basic Care Personnel to fill personnel vacancies in order to maintain operations.

• Lock/Out Tag out policy and procedures

The individual completes thorough shift turnover and other shift reporting as required. They manage 6S projects in the Pulpmill and Utilities and further Pulpmill and Utilities knowledge through Convergence Training, Pulping seminars, etc. They assist with training of employee’s in new positions.
