What You Will Do

  • Proactively coordinate and lead the manufacturing operations in the Pulp Mill area to ensure the achievement of department objectives for Safety, Quality, Production, etc.
  • Act as a technical resource for the operations team, and lead project and process improvement efforts in the paper mill.
  • Operate as a leader within the business unit, ensuring the right behaviors are exhibited.
  • Develop and maintain the required standards, and coach and facilitate process troubleshooting and efficiency improvements using problem-solving tools.
  • Absorb and implement solutions to problems (root cause) and ensure tasks are implemented sustainably.
  • Define and execute improvement projects, and develop/prioritize area capital projects using the Engineering Service Request (ESR) process.
  • Owes the Tier I operations update meeting reporting for their area(s) of responsibility.
  • Ensure effective communication and results review through the meeting sequence (Shift Hand Off [SHO], Tier I Area Operations Update).
  • Responsible for day-to-day area safety and assist with all area safety efforts.
  • Support the behavioral safety program and ensure that safe work practices are followed.
  • Lead safety initiatives and provide safety training to ensure safe work practices are followed and enforced.
  • Work to eliminate employee interactions with equipment and address safety concerns with a strong urgency.
  • Ensure environmental compliance.
