The technologist will assist in creating clinical protocols, clinical testing, operational policy, regulatory guidelines and EMR workflow. Responsibilities Assesses patients and correlates clinical findings with exam requests with providers.Assesses the patient's ability to undergo the procedure.Obtain pertinent data from patient's chart and document all data.Educates patient for examination including, Spirometry, pre/post bronchodilator, Body Plethysmography, DLCO, Oximetry, Rest &/or Exercise, MCC, and MIP/MEP testing.Maintains & calibrates PFT equipment.Prepares Meth choline solutions for MCC tests.Responsible for equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.Tracks supply levels, and ordering.Accurately charges for services renderedVerifies and correct ALL PFT reports prior to forwarding to ordering physician.Serves as technical contact for point-of-care testing compliance.Serve as a resource of comprehensive knowledge of routine and complex procedures and testingMaintain a clean and safe environment for testing.Follow all infection control policies and procedures. Qualifications Must have a National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) certification with State of MA license as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) and special interest and study in Pulmonary Function Testing (RPFT).Must have certification in BLS/CPR and have completed a formal program of study accredited by the CAHEA (Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation) or equal to completion of two to four years of college and a minimum of four years of clinical experience in a clinical Organization Description Saint Vincent Hospital has been providing high-quality healthcare to Worcester and the surrounding communities for more than 125 years.
